Shipping policy

Effective date: October 10, 2026

Summary

  • InsureShip does not sell or ship physical products. We provide shipping insurance for packages that participating stores ship to you.
  • The store that sold you the products is responsible for packing, shipping, carrier choice, delivery times, and tracking.
  • Coverage begins when the merchant ships your order and is governed only by the insurance certificate or policy.
  • Your coverage confirmation is delivered electronically. Nothing is mailed to you.
  • If your insured package is lost, damaged, or stolen, file a claim.

1. Who we are

This Shipping Policy is provided by Online Shipping Insurance Services, Inc., doing business as InsureShip ("InsureShip," "we," or "us"), a licensed insurance agency (California Department of Insurance license #0G55434). InsureShip is an agency, not the insurer. Coverage is underwritten by Navigators, a Hartford company.

2. We do not ship products

InsureShip does not sell, store, pack, ship, or deliver the goods in your order. The store you bought from (the "merchant") chooses the carrier and shipping method, sets processing and delivery times, provides tracking, and handles delivery questions, address changes, returns, and exchanges under its own shipping and return policies. Merchants are not InsureShip's agents and cannot change coverage terms or decide claims.

3. Delivery of your coverage

Shipping insurance is a digital service. When you select coverage at checkout and the premium is charged, your coverage is recorded for that shipment. Confirmation, certificate information, and claim communications are delivered electronically, by email, on our website, or through our claims portal at claims.insureship.com. You may request a paper copy of any required insurance document by contacting us. No shipping charge applies to the coverage itself.

4. When coverage applies

Coverage for a shipment begins when the merchant ships the order and the shipment is in transit, and it applies only if the premium for that shipment has been charged and received, the shipment is eligible, and the coverage was not cancelled before shipment. Concealed damage discovered up to 15 days after final delivery is treated as possibly having occurred in transit, as the certificate describes. All coverage, including limits, exclusions, excluded countries, waiting periods, and filing deadlines, is governed solely by the insurance certificate or policy, reproduced in Section 4 of our Terms and Conditions.

5. Delays

Coverage does not include delay. A late package is not, by itself, a covered loss. For non-delivery, the certificate requires waiting 20 days for domestic shipments and 30 days for international shipments before filing a claim. For delivery-time questions, contact the merchant or the carrier.

6. Address accuracy and packaging

Make sure the shipping address you give the merchant is complete and correct. The certificate excludes losses from parcels that are addressed, wrapped, or packed insufficiently or incorrectly, or contrary to the carrier's requirements. Losses arising from delivering a package to someone who obtains it by trick, false pretense, or other fraudulent scheme are also excluded, as the certificate describes.

7. International shipments

Coverage is not available for shipments to excluded or sanctioned countries listed in the certificate. Customs duties, taxes, and fees, and any seizure or confiscation by customs or government authority, are not covered and are the responsibility of the merchant or recipient as their terms provide.

8. If something goes wrong

  • Lost, stolen, or damaged package: file a claim at insureship.com/pages/file-claim. Keep all packaging and damaged items until the claim is resolved. All claims must be filed within 90 days of shipment.
  • Want to cancel coverage: you can cancel for a full refund any time before the merchant ships. See our Refund Policy.
  • Tracking, delivery dates, or product questions: contact the merchant.

9. Fraud warning

Any person who knowingly presents a false or fraudulent claim for the payment of a loss is guilty of a crime and may be subject to fines and confinement in state prison.

10. Order of precedence

If this policy and the insurance certificate or policy conflict, the certificate or policy controls. This policy is part of our Terms and Conditions. Nothing in it limits any right you have under the certificate or under law that cannot be waived.
