White Label & Broker Program

White Label Shipping Insurance Program

Make licensed shipping insurance available at checkout under your own brand, “Powered by InsureShip.” Your brand and your customer experience, with InsureShip as the licensed agency, Navigators as the insurer, and claims filed with InsureShip.

  • Licensed insurance agency (CA DOI #0G55434)
  • Underwritten by Navigators, a Hartford company
  • Since 2009

Illustrative only. Price and wording are examples.

Quick answer: InsureShip’s White Label & Broker Program lets platforms, apps, fulfillment companies and insurance agencies offer shipping insurance under their own brand. InsureShip stays the licensed agency, Navigators underwrites the coverage, and shoppers file claims with InsureShip. Partners handle the brand, the checkout and the customer relationship.

Why now

Shoppers want coverage. Regulators tell them to check the license.

Package volume and package theft keep growing, and the rules for checkout add-ons keep getting stricter.

Who it’s for

Built for companies that sit between merchants and shoppers

If your product touches checkout, shipping or the post-purchase experience, you can make shipping insurance available under your brand, with InsureShip as the licensed agency.

Top fit

Shipping protection apps

Already show a “protection” toggle at checkout? Put licensed insurance and a named insurer behind your offer, and keep your brand and widget.

Top fit

Checkout, funnel and CRM platforms

Add shipping insurance as a native add-on or order bump for every merchant on your platform, the way Checkout Champ and Sticky.io already integrate InsureShip.

Top fit

Shopping carts and app marketplaces

Give merchants a built-in, licensed option instead of sending them to third-party apps with unclear terms.

Subscription and rebill platforms

Make coverage available on first orders and on rebills, with clear consent and disclosure at each step.

3PLs and fulfillment centers

Make branded coverage available to the brands you ship for, tied to the orders and tracking you already handle.

Insurance agencies and brokers

Add an ecommerce product line as a licensed sub-producer, with InsureShip’s program and insurer.

Marketplaces and resale platforms

Make shipping coverage available to buyers or sellers under your marketplace brand, backed by a written policy.

Ecommerce agencies and processors

Bring a licensed shipping insurance option to the merchants you build for or process for.

Already running a protection program?

Put licensed insurance behind your shipping protection

Some checkout “shipping protection” programs say in their own terms that they are not insurance, and in some of them the fees fund the claims. Whether a product is insurance is decided by state law and regulators, based on what it does, not what it is called.

The White Label Program lets you keep your brand, your widget and your merchant relationships while the coverage itself is sold as insurance by a licensed agency and backed by a named insurer.

  • Keep your brand at checkout, with “Powered by InsureShip”
  • Claims handled by InsureShip under written policy terms, not paid from a fee pool
  • Required disclosures and approved wording supplied by InsureShip
  • Regulator and coverage questions handled by the licensed agency

Protection that isn’t insurance often

  • Has no policy behind the fee
  • Pays claims from fees
  • Uses claim rules set by the provider
  • Gives shoppers no insurer to rely on

  • Written policy, named insurer
  • Claims handled by InsureShip
  • Claims under policy terms
  • Sold through a licensed agency

Two ways to partner

Choose the tier that fits your business

Both tiers present coverage under your brand with “Powered by InsureShip.” The difference is whether you hold insurance licenses.

Tier 1

Licensed Producer

For insurance agencies and brokers
  • Act as a licensed sub-producer of InsureShip
  • Advise customers and sell under your own licenses and appointments
  • Compensation as permitted by state law and the insurer’s filings, with any required disclosure
  • InsureShip provides the program, the insurer relationship and claims handling

Tier 2

Platform Partner

For platforms, apps, carts, 3PLs and brands without insurance licenses
  • Display the offer and InsureShip’s approved materials at checkout
  • Provide the technology and integration
  • Choose how payment is collected: InsureShip charges shoppers on its own merchant account, or you collect as InsureShip’s limited collection agent
  • InsureShip sets pricing and remains the licensed agency for every policy
  • Optional: an InsureShip licensed producer can answer your shoppers’ coverage questions

Partner compensation, pricing and state availability are set out in the program agreement and depend on state law and insurer approval. Ask us for details.

Program terms

Clear economics, in one agreement

Pricing, partner compensation and payment collection are set out in a single program agreement, built to follow state insurance law and the insurer’s requirements.

  • InsureShip sets Tier 2 pricing from the insurer’s approved rates
  • Payment collected by InsureShip, or by you as its limited collection agent
  • Monthly reporting and reconciliation

Clear roles

Who does what in a white label program

You own the brand and the checkout. The licensed agency and the insurer own the insurance.

Our merchants wanted shipping insurance they could trust at checkout, so we built InsureShip right into the platform. It’s licensed insurance, it turns on in a few clicks, and InsureShip handles the claims.

Same coverage, your brand

Your shoppers get the same coverage as InsureShip’s direct program

White label partners make available the same coverage InsureShip offers directly. Only the brand at checkout changes.

  • Coverage up to $5,000 per shipment for loss, damage and theft, including porch piracy
  • Underwritten by Navigators, a Hartford company, rated A+ by AM Best (Navigators Insurance Company, as of 2024; fact sheet)
  • Every claim filed with and handled by InsureShip
  • Payment collected by InsureShip on its own merchant account, or by you as InsureShip’s limited collection agent

Compliance built in

Every offer carries the required disclosure

Partners show a short disclosure with every offer, confirmation and claims page. Example for a Tier 2 Platform Partner (Tier 1 wording differs):

Shipping insurance powered by InsureShip. Coverage is offered and administered by Online Shipping Insurance Services, Inc. (InsureShip), a licensed insurance agency (CA License No. 0G55434), and underwritten by Navigators, a Hartford company. YourBrand is not an insurance agent or insurer and does not give coverage advice. Coverage is subject to the policy terms.
  • Opt-in offer recommended, with the price shown before purchase
  • Approved wording and disclosures supplied by InsureShip

Partner FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is white label shipping insurance?

White label shipping insurance is shipping insurance offered under another company’s brand. With InsureShip, the partner’s brand appears at checkout with “Powered by InsureShip,” while InsureShip remains the licensed agency and Navigators, a Hartford company, underwrites the coverage.

Do I need an insurance license to join?

No. Platforms, apps and brands without licenses can join as Tier 2 Platform Partners. They display the offer and approved materials and provide the technology, but they do not sell, solicit or give coverage advice. Licensed agencies and brokers can join as Tier 1 Licensed Producers.

Who handles claims?

Shoppers file claims with InsureShip, through a claims portal that can carry your brand alongside “Powered by InsureShip.” InsureShip handles every claim under the policy terms. Partners route coverage and claim questions to InsureShip and share order and tracking information when needed.

We already run our own shipping protection program. Can we switch?

Yes, subject to the program agreement, insurer approval and state availability. You can keep your brand and widget and move the coverage onto licensed insurance. We help you update your checkout wording and disclosures and plan the changeover, including how to handle orders covered by your old program.

Who collects the payment from shoppers?

Either option works. InsureShip can charge shoppers directly on its own merchant account, or the partner can collect payment at checkout as InsureShip’s limited collection agent and remit it under the program agreement.

Is the coverage the same as InsureShip’s direct program?

Yes. White label partners make available the same coverage InsureShip offers directly, underwritten by Navigators, a Hartford company. Only the brand at checkout changes.

Can the offer be pre-selected at checkout?

InsureShip recommends a clearly disclosed opt-in offer with the full price shown before purchase. Some platforms and states restrict pre-selected add-ons. Shopify, for example, requires published apps to get explicit buyer consent before adding optional paid items.

How are partners compensated?

Compensation depends on your tier and is set out in the program agreement. It is structured to follow state insurance law and the insurer’s requirements. Contact us for the details that apply to your business.

Which platforms can we launch on?

InsureShip is integrated with platforms including Checkout Champ, Sticky.io, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Next Commerce, VRIO, Magento / Adobe Commerce, ClickFunnels, SamCart and UltraCart, built with our fulfillment partner RapidFulfillment, plus a custom API.

Is InsureShip licensed?

Yes. InsureShip (Online Shipping Insurance Services, Inc.) is licensed by the California Department of Insurance, license #0G55434, and licensed nationwide. It has operated as InsureShip since 2009, and its coverage is underwritten by Navigators, a Hartford company.
