Charges, Cancellations & Refunds

Answers for shoppers about the InsureShip charge on your statement, cancelling coverage, and getting a refund. These follow InsureShip's Refund Policy and the cancellation terms in the insurance certificate.

Why is there a separate InsureShip charge on my card statement?

The shipping insurance premium is charged on InsureShip's own merchant account, separately from the store's charge for your order. That is why it can appear as its own line on your card or bank statement.

If you do not recognize the charge, email hello@insureship.com with your order number, the store name and your checkout email before contacting your bank.

Can I get a refund after my order ships?

No. Once the merchant ships your order, coverage has begun and the premium is fully earned and non-refundable. That applies even if the package arrives safely, you return the products to the store, or the store refunds your order after shipment.

If only part of an order has shipped, contact InsureShip to review whether premium for the unshipped part can be refunded.

How do I return a product or get a refund for my order?

Contact the store you bought from. InsureShip does not sell the goods in your order, so returns, exchanges, product refunds and the store's own shipping charges are handled by the store under its own policy.

Returning a product does not create a right to a refund of the insurance premium once the order has shipped.

Should I dispute the InsureShip charge with my bank?

Please contact InsureShip first at hello@insureship.com; most billing questions can be resolved quickly by email. If a premium payment is charged back or reversed and not repaid, the premium for that shipment has not been paid, and whether coverage applies is then governed by the policy and applicable law.

Does shipping insurance renew with each subscription shipment?

That depends on how the store set up its checkout. InsureShip asks subscription merchants to tell customers up front whether coverage renews with each shipment. Check the store's checkout disclosure or ask the store, and contact InsureShip if you were charged for coverage you did not select.
